Azealea Banks shared a shocking and heartbreaking account that she was drugged and raped on the weekend.
“Lowkey just got raped. I feel like dirt,” wrote the 26-year-old rapper in a since deleted Instagram Story.
The troubled star followed up her initial statement with a series of audio voice messages posted to social media where she is heard sobbing into the phone sounding devastated asking for her friends in New York to call her.
A fan captured the stories and uploaded them to YouTube.
“You don’t really realise it like this rape sh–,” she is heard saying. “Men can just prey on you and f—ing like badger you, force you to say yes… to the point where you feel like you gave consent but you didn’t give sh–. You never wanted to do sh–… someone really just got the f–ing best of me.”
She continued, “I just feel so dirty and stupid right now, you know? We were just hanging out and one thing led to another… I just feel really dumb, because it was partially my fault… I’m just like sitting here like feeling f—ing low and sh–… I just want to f—ing disappear right now.”
“I don’t think I can put out anymore music right now,” she added.
On Saturday, the ‘212’ singer reassured fans that she was feeling better, sharing some updates to social media.
“I’m awake and walking y’all!! I’m good!! Like I said… it takes a lot to take this elephant down!! Show is still on for tomorrow.. See y’all then!!!”
In another Instagram Story post she asked, “What is even a roofie?” “I’ve never felt that type of intoxication in my life. I woke up my throat was in pins and needles. It’s under control now my brothers and friends are here. I’m going to be fine don’t panic guys. I love you. I def got drugged in my drink but I’m waking up again.”
Earlier this year, Banks won a US $1 million record deal.
She did not name her accuser and it’s unclear whether she filed a police report. A request for comment from Banks’ publicist by Page Six was not returned at the time of writing.
