New Course from the Body Image Movement Takes on the Diet Industry with Message of Self Acceptance

A DARWIN woman has embraced a new philosophy by learning to love her body for what it is rather than fall prey to the hysteria of body imperfection.

Linda Oakford said she had found the message of Body Image Movement founder, Taryn Brumfitt, life changing.

“It takes you through step by step through how you go from waking up trying to avoid every mirror and never going to a pool party, to saying ‘stuff it, I’m belly bombing in the pool next Christmas party’,” she said.

“It was so different. It was not just about being fat or thin, that is one of the key things I try to get across to people.

Program founder Ms Brumfitt said transformation programs like Michelle Bridges and Kayla Itsines are preying on women’s insecurities.
