Woman Escapes with Minor Injuries after Plane Crash near Bankstown Airport

A woman has pulled herself from a light plane after it crashed at Bankstown in Sydney’s south-west.

The plane came down in a paddock near Bankstown Airport about 11:20am and came to rest in thick bushes.

The left wing of the plane appeared to have sheared off in the crash.

New South Wales Ambulance said the woman in her 50s was the only person onboard.

She is being treated by paramedics but appears to only have minor injuries.

Several people, and emergency service vehicles in the distance, surrounded by trees.
NSW Police have established a crime scene and are working with investigators from the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB).

The ATSB said the woman was able to walk from the wreckage.
