Comic book fans have slammed Kmart after a Batman-themed book cover was sold with one huge mistake.

An image of the book cover surfaced online this week.

The picture was uploaded to Facebook group Kmart Mums Australia by a customer.

The Batman-themed book cover was sold as a Marvel product, even though the superhero is one of DC Comics’ most popular creations.

The image shows the product covered in classic Batman print.

On top of the cover is a sticker and a bar code with the words ‘self-adhesive print.’

This is next to a big Marvel Comics logo.

The product quickly attracted a number of likes and comments from comic book fans.

Batman is a fictional superhero featuring in American comic books published by DC Comics.

Batman was created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger. The superhero first appeared in Detective Comics issue 27 in 1939.
