Karl and Peter Stefanovic Admit Guilt over THAT Uber Chat and Apologise for their ‘B*tchy’ Conversation About Today Show Co-Host Georgie Gardner

The Stefanovic brothers have admitted their guilt and apologised for their ‘b*tchy’ conversation about Today show co-host Georgie Gardner, which was overheard in an Uber ride.

Karl told The Sunday Telegraph that he and his younger brother Peter, 36, hardly ever talk about work to each other, but did last Sunday after a barbecue.

‘And the conversation… we are sorry. I was angry with myself at first that I could be so stupid,’ the 43-year-old said.

‘I have spoken directly to the people involved and have offered my sincerest apologies as I have been raised to do: Do something wrong, apologise and try to move on,’ he said.

He also told added that he would be getting himself a hands-free phone kit and revealed that he gave the driver a one star rating, as zero ratings are not possible on Uber.

The publication also reported that Channel Nine accepted their apology describing the behaviour between the brothers as schoolboy-like.

The saga began last week when entertainment journalist Peter Ford revealed explosive details about a ‘b*tchy’ Uber ride chat between Karl and his younger brother Peter.

Reports emerged that an Uber driver was allegedly shopping around details of Peter Stefanovic speaking to Karl on loud speaker.

‘One that people are going to focus on is Georgie Gardner, because that is a very testy relationship anyway,’ he claimed.

Ford claimed the conversation also covered other people Peter and Karl worked with at Channel Nine.

‘It is going to be highly embarrassing for both the Stefanovic brothers as of next week when this magazine is on the shelves, because they give serves to not only on-air talent including Richard Wilkins and Georgie Gardner, but to a number of major executives at the Channel Nine Network,’ Ford alleged.

On Wednesday, The Daily Telegraph reported Peter and Karl had spoken about their Nine bosses and allegedly complained about working with Georgie during the talk.

The siblings also allegedly spoke about Nine News and Current Affairs head honcho Darren Wick, Today’s Mark Calvert and 60 Minutes’ Kirsty Thomson during their chat, which took place when Peter was in an Uber and speaking to his brother Karl on loudspeaker.

Nine confirmed to The Daily Telegraph that they had not bought the story, which was reportedly being shopped around to the media’s highest bidder.

The network also denied that the bosses had been consulted, rubbishing rumours Darren and Mark had a fiery discussion about the conversation in Mark’s office.

A source also told the publication that one of the brothers was asked about the chat, but couldn’t recall what was said while Nine management had been in talks to solve the issue.

It has long been speculated that there is tension between Karl and Georgie.
