Australian Winter Olympics bronze medalist Scotty James has opened up about his girlfriend and how his relationship has helped him go on to achieve success as a snowboarder.
James finished with the bronze medal in the snowboard halfpipe after a thrilling final which came down to the final run.
The snowboarder went into the final a genuine gold medal chance but faced competition from American veteran Shaun White and Japan’s Ayumu Hirano, who took gold and silver respectively.
Speaking exclusively to Nine’s Cameron Williams, Australia’s Winter Olympics flagbearer says his girlfriend Ivy Miller has had a positive impact on his life.
“Ivy’s amazing support to me, she’s a character and we have a lot of fun. This is a very professional support but we like to keep it light-hearted,” said James.
And despite all the pressure James faces competing on the international stage, his significant other provides the 23-year-old with a sense of level headedness he needs.
