Man Allegedly Uses Rock, Syringe in Kinross Armed Hold-Up

Police were able to track the vehicle to a home on Cook Avenue in Hillarys

A man is in custody after allegedly using a rock and syringe to threaten a woman before stealing her car in Kinross last night.

Police say the 40-year-old man approached the 24-year-old victim shortly after she pull her Holden Cruze sedan into her Stow Lane carport.

They will allege he was wielding a rock and syringe and demanded the woman get out of the car.

Fearing for her safety, the woman complied at which point the man got into the vehicle and drove away.

Attending police were able to track the vehicle to a home on Cook Avenue in Hillarys where they found it parked on the driveway with the alleged offender sitting inside.

Officers forced entry into the car and restrained the suspect before he would drive away.

The alleged offender was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for a medical assessment where he remains this morning under police guard.

His bail was refused and he has been charged with stealing and armed robbery.
