The Hobart DJ accused of headbutting former prime minister Tony Abbott is expected to reappear in court.
Astro Labe is listed to enter a plea on Thursday in Hobart Magistrates Court to a charge of causing harm to a commonwealth public official.
Labe was originally charged with common assault over the incident on the Hobart waterfront on September 21. The charge was upgraded to a federal offence that carries a maximum penalty of 10 years’ jail.
Mr Abbott said he was left shocked and with a fat lip, after what he called an orchestrated attack as part of the same-sex marriage debate.
Although Labe was wearing a “yes” sticker when he encountered Mr Abbott, he insisted his actions were solely because of a “personal hatred” for the politician.
