Federal Labor Against GST Reform: WA Libs

West Australian Opposition Leader Mike Nahan says federal Labor is working against the interests of the state amid claims it will refuse to support any proposed changes to GST distribution.

Labor are proposing a $1.6 billion top-up fund for infrastructure projects instead of changes to the GST, and both state and federal members have protested extending the deadline on a final report on proposed reform by the productivity commission.

“It’s clear that the Shorten Labor opposition will not support reform of the GST and if they gain power in a year they will wind back any reform that the Turnbull government puts in place,” Dr Nahan said.
