A boy watching the cricket with his family was struck by a flying six during the BBL clash between the Strikers and Thunder in Adelaide.
The incident occurred when Strikers captain Travis Head connected with the ball off the middle of the bat sending it flying into the stands.
As the ball started to fall from the sky, multiple fans tried catching it but they missed and it ended up hitting six-year-old Charlie.
The boy’s mother immediately attended to the child and it appears the child is ok.
“Young Charlie, a six-year-old who was cleaned up by that six we’ve just heard that he’s fine,” said commentator Adam Gilchrist said.
“He’s gone away and mum put a bit of ice on his injury and he’s ready to get back out here and watch the rest of the innings.”
It’s the second time a ball has hit a fan during the BBL in the past two weeks, when an Ellyse Perry six struck a boy in the crowd at North Sydney Oval.
