The terrifying footage shows the white Mitsubishi skid sideways into the other vehicle at high speed. After the horror smash, the driver fled the scene, leaving Ms Abdallah to die in the wreckage.

Investigators have released CCTV as they renew an appeal for information into a fatal crash in Sydney last year.

Witnesses said at the time that the man checked on Ms Abdallah before reaching in to the car to grab his belongings and walk off. The car was fitted with stolen numberplates, according to reports last year.

Ms Abdallah, who did not have any identification on her, was taken to Liverpool Hospital but died later that night.

Her mother Areti Abdallah told the Daily Telegraph at the time: “She was a good mother, a beautiful person, her heart was gold.

“Everyone loved her.”

The female 45-year-old driver of the Honda suffered minor injuries and was taken to Bankstown Hospital for treatment.

Police combed nearby streets after the collision using dogs and a helicopter but were unable to find the driver.
