If your name is Sydney, you could win a free flight to Australia courtesy of United Airlines.
Starting on January 18, 2018, United is beginning a new long-haul service from Houston, Texas, to Sydney, Australia, and to celebrate, they’re giving away five free trips to people whose first or last name is Sydney.
Because there are plenty of ways to spell Sydney, United will accept 20 different spellings of the name, including Sidney, Sydnee and Cidneigh.
The winners, who will be selected at random, will receive two free economy-class roundtrip tickets from January 18 to January 25.
The prize also includes five nights at t, a $500 gift card, a chance to see the Sydney Opera House, a Sydney Harbor Sightseeing Cruise, plus a day trip to the Blue Mountains.
Legal U.S. residents, except those in Florida and New York, who are at least 18 years old can enter the contest online from now until December 27. The winners will be picked on December 28.
Before you enter, be warned: The flight between Houston and Sydney lasts nearly 17 hours and 35 minutes and the return flight is 15 hours and 45 minutes. So be sure to load up your iPad with movies and bring your chargers.
