An afternoon on the water has turned to tragedy for a group of men on the Mid North Coast after their boat capsized and one man died on Sunday.
The three men were returning from sea at Camden Haven when their boat capsized just after lunch, tipping all three men out of the boat.
The boat overturned as it crossed the bar and entered the Camden Haven River as the tide was going out.
Emergency services were called about 1.45pm and a rescue operation commenced.
With help from the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and surf lifesavers, two men were found and rescued.
But the third man could not be located.
After a short search, a 59-year-old man was found in the water, but was unable to be revived.
Local police and the Marine Area Command are investigating the incident.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
