A man who allegedly attempted to abduct a young girl from Paddy’s Markets in Sydney has been arrested after he was earlier seen taking an interest in two other children.
NSW Police say the 41-year-old man attended the popular markets in Haymarket on Sunday afternoon and was observed watching a small child.
He then approached a second child, an 18-month-old girl, before the toddler’s parents noticed and picked her up.
The man was then seen ushering a four or five-year-old girl out on to Hay Street before witnesses intervened and the 41-year-old was detained.
He was subsequently charged with offensive conduct and breaching bail, and was due to appear at Central Local Court on Monday.
Detectives are appealing to the parents of the third child to come forward and assist with their investigation.
