Sydney is the First, Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth Most-Instagrammed Location in Australia Unsurprising, really.

People from Sydney should feel either smug or like a bunch of oversharers following Instagram’s announcement of Australia’s most posted and geotagged locations for 2017.

Sydney took out the top-five spots in the social media platform’s year in review data dump, with Bondi being named the #number1 most photographed and geo-tagged place in Australia, followed by the Sydney Opera House, Darling Harbour, Manly Beach and Sydney Harbour.

Surfers Paradise, St Kilda Beach, Brisbane’s South Bank, the MCG and the National Gallery of Victoria completed the list.

Sydney was the most Instagramed city in the country.

Nine million Aussies use Instagram each month, including all-round nice guy Hugh Jackman, who is the most followed Aussie on Instagram with 15 million followers. He nudged out last year’s headliner Chris Hemsworth, who has a meager 12.6 million.

The world thought Clarendon was the filter that made the world look best. That, or they’re easily swayed – it’s the first filter option after Normal. Gingham, Juno, Lark and Moon rounded out the list of most favoured image-editing options .

Australia’s number one hashtag is enough to make you feel all warm and fuzzy – it was #love.
