A young couple have been left in tears after being forced to cancel their wedding due to flooding at the venue in Euroa, in north-eastern Victoria.
Eighty-five guests, including some from interstate, were due to celebrate at the Euroa Butter Factory, complete with a full vegan menu for the wedding guests.
The table was set, the flowers were prepared and the wedding cake was ready to be decorated.
Owner Russell Griffin had to break the news to the couple, who had stayed there overnight.
“Well they cried and they just understood that if they didn’t leave the property now they would have been stuck here probably for a couple of days without a wedding and probably only me as company,” Mr Griffin said.
“They’ve been planning it for 18 months. We do weddings here every week at this time of year and it was really sad.”
